Transport heavy, oversized, or high-value cargo with confidence. MCC World International specialises in Project Cargo solutions tailored to your needs. Whether it’s industrial machinery, turbines, or construction equipment, our team ensures secure, efficient, and cost-effective delivery anywhere from and to Australia.
Project Cargo refers to large, heavy, or complex shipments that need specialist handling and logistics expertise. These aren’t your everyday deliveries—they’re often one-off shipments for industries like oil and gas, mining, construction, energy, and manufacturing. Typical project cargo includes:
Power plants and turbines
Boilers and generators
Wind turbine components
Drilling rigs
Construction vehicles
Aircraft parts
Transporting cargo like this isn’t just about loading it onto a truck or a ship—it requires planning, permits, and the right equipment. That’s where we come in. Our team creates custom transport plans to keep things running smoothly from start to finish.
For most oversized shipments, sea freight is the way to go. We use:
Container Vessels: Great for smaller cargo that fits into standard containers or flat racks, keeping it protected from the elements.
RoRo Vessels: Ideal for wheeled or tracked machinery that can be driven straight onto the ship.
Breakbulk Vessels: For the truly massive loads—think turbines and construction equipment—these vessels come with onboard cranes for easy loading and unloading.
Need it there fast? Air freight is the quickest option, though it works best for smaller, high-value cargo due to weight and size restrictions.
Charter Flights: If your shipment is too big for a standard plane, we can arrange a full aircraft just for you.
Cargo Airlines: Some airlines have extra-large aircraft designed for oversized freight. We’ll find the best fit for your cargo.
Land Transport – Getting Cargo to its Final Stop
Land transport is often the final step, ensuring your shipment gets from port or airport to its final destination in Australia. Options include:
Heavy Haulage: For oversized and abnormal loads, we provide specialist heavy haulage solutions, including pilot escorts, route surveys, and compliance with Australian transport regulations.
Road Freight: Perfect for both standard and oversized cargo, offering flexibility in delivery routes and scheduling.
Rail Transport: A great option for long-distance shipments, providing high-capacity transport at a lower cost than road freight when suitable.
Multimodal Transport – Seamless Movement Across Borders
For the most complex shipments, we combine multiple transport modes to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Intermodal Containers: Cargo is packed into containers that can be moved between lorries, trains, and barges without unpacking.
RoRo Vessels: When your cargo needs specialist handling but doesn’t fit in standard containers, RoRo is a flexible option.

Machinery Shipping Between Australia and International Markets
MCC supports commercial machinery imports and exports connecting Australia with China, Vietnam, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Malaysia. We coordinate transport for new and used industrial equipment, construction machinery and oversized project cargo. The shipping plan depends on each piece’s dimensions, weight, handling requirements and route, with flat rack, open-top, RoRo and breakbulk options where suitable.
Recent Australian Machinery and Project Cargo Deliveries
Used Machinery in Flat Rack and Open Top Containers
MCC coordinated a second-hand heavy machinery shipment using two 40-foot flat racks, one 45-foot open-top container and one 20-foot general-purpose container. The operation covered specialist container loading, cargo securing and terminal access coordination.
Terminal receiving arrangements required the oversized cargo to enter after general container loading was completed. Our warehouse, transport and operations teams coordinated a 4 am movement to the terminal, completing the shipment handling successfully.

MCC arranged port collection of a 40HC container, equipment unpacking and inspection, quarantine washing and low-loader transport to a construction site. The work brought import handling and Australian site delivery together in one coordinated plan.
44 Tonne Project Cargo from Port Kembla to Melbourne
For a 44 tonne breakbulk shipment, MCC coordinated collection at Port Kembla, crane arrangements and heavy haulage to Melbourne. The movement demonstrates our ability to organise heavy equipment transport across Australian ports and delivery locations.
Irrigation Equipment Delivered to a South Australian Farm
MCC coordinated flat-rack unpacking, warehouse handling and transport from Adelaide to a regional farm. Crane offloading and final positioning formed part of the delivery arrangements for the irrigation equipment.
