Our FCL Shipping Process

To use FCL shipping, you must have enough goods to fill at least one container. Containers typically come in standard sizes of 20 or 40 feet, although some carriers also offer larger containers. Once your goods are ready for shipment, they will be loaded into the container and secured for transport.

Here’s an overview of how the FCL shipping process typically works:

1. Shipment Planning & Documentation

After placing your order with your overseas supplier, that’s where we step in. We work directly with them to sort out paperwork, confirm shipping details, and prevent delays before your goods even leave the port.

2. Booking & Coordination

We arrange the best shipping route and handle all the logistics, including:

• Securing space on the right vessel to your destination.
• Checking and submitting all required documents on time.
• (Optional) Arranging insurance to protect your shipment from loss or damage.

3. Packing & Container Preparation

How your goods are packed matters. We ensure everything is properly secured for transit:

• Palletised loading for easier unloading at the destination.
• Floor-to-roof stacking to maximise space where needed.
• Extra care for fragile goods to prevent damage in transit.

Proper planning here means a smoother process when your shipment arrives.

4. Transporting the Container to the Port

Once your container is packed and sealed, we arrange transport to the export port via road or rail. Our team ensures it gets there on time and without issues.

5. Ocean Freight & Customs Pre-Clearance

As your container makes its way to Australia:

• It may change vessels along the way (transshipment) if coming from certain regions.
• We handle customs pre-clearance with Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) to avoid hold-ups when it lands.

6. Arrival, Customs Clearance & Final Delivery

When your container reaches its destination, we take care of the rest:

• We manage customs and biosecurity clearance through our experienced customs brokers in Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Perth, Adelaide, and Brisbane.

• The container is collected from the port and delivered to your location.
• You can choose immediate unloading or opt for a container drop-off with scheduled pickup.
